Traffic Advisory announced ahead of Odisha Assembly session: The Bhubaneswar-Kataka Police Commissionerate has issued a traffic advisory ahead of seventh session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly. The session is scheduled to be held from September 22 to October 3, 2026.
The traffic regulations have been enforced under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Kataka Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulations, 2008. Key Traffic Diversions & Restrictions:
Housing Board Square to Rabindra Mandap: Vehicles coming from Housing Board Square towards Rabindra Mandap side will be diverted at Keshari Talkies Square.
AG Square to PMG: Traffic moving from AG Square towards PMG will be diverted by turning right near Jaydev Bhawan and proceeding onto IG Park Road.
Master Canteen to Lower PMG: Vehicles proceeding from Master Canteen side towards P.M.G. Square will be diverted into the adjoining lanes at Lower PMG.
120 Infantry Battalion Square: Vehicles coming from the 120 Infantry Battalion Square will not be allowed to move towards Rabindra Mandap and will instead be diverted towards Power House Square.
Lok Bhawan Square to MLA Colony: Traffic heading from Lok Bhawan Square towards MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at 120 Battalion Square towards Sastrinagar Square.
The Commissionerate Police clarified that these restrictions will not apply to emergency services, including Police, Fire Services, and Ambulances. Vehicles authorised to enter official buildings, including the State Assembly, Lok Seva Bhawan, and other adjacent government offices, will also be permitted.
The traffic regulations will remain active on all session days. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays.
